Wanted to add to check your impeller to pump housing clearance
Recently we had a ski with worn pump shaft bearings, it would be fine in full throttle but at times beep would come on overheat warning
The problem was found, and was not running hot on the water hose
We back flushed the engine but the actual problem was the pump bearings
If they are worn clearance with a feeler gauge will be more on one side and zero touching to less on the other, use yamaha specs to get an idea
If yoh have way too much clearance your impeller and housing could be worn
If bad enough have seen it cause slipping
Impellers new are 200 up housings depending on what you get can run 140 up
We use the plastic pump ring with stainless impeller
